What does cracking pressure mean?
It is the inlet pressure required to begin opening the valve. A value that is too high adds pressure loss; a value that is too low may not support the intended circuit function.
Does a hydraulic check valve reduce flow?
Every check valve creates some restriction. The practical question is how much pressure drop it creates at your required flow and oil viscosity.
Can an inline check valve hold a suspended load?
A standard inline check valve should not automatically be treated as a safety load-holding valve. The complete circuit, failure modes and the need for pilot-operated or counterbalance control must be reviewed.
